Scoring/Reporting
Raleigh Hills will be using the proficiency scoring system this year. The scoring in my classes will be based on a scale from Working Towards Proficiency (WTP) to Highly Proficient (HP). I will assess student learning for each learning target. More information will be given to your student as the year progresses. Information will be shared with parents during Curriculum Night on September 28th. I hope you'll be able to join us.
Late work Policy:
Late work can be turned in until the next grade printout is made available (usually every two weeks or so). Grades will also be made available through STUDENT VUE, accessible through the BSD website. I've found, over the years, after two to three weeks, assignments not turned in on time begin to lose their relevance. However, I will never punish students for doing work. If assignments are turned in, they will be acknowledged. Again, I encourage students to talk with all of their teachers on a regular basis about their assignments. Self advocacy is a crucial skill for all middle school students to develop.
